Fishing Regulations – Testeboåns FVO

1.0 – Fishing Period
Fishing in Zone 1 is allowed all year round. Zone 1 extends from the quay at Vävaren down to Fredrikskans Bridge at the river mouth.
In Zone 2, fishing is allowed from April 1 to September 15. During the rest of the year, a total fishing prohibition applies in that stretch. Zone 2 begins at Oskars Bridge and ends at the power line above Brännsågen.

1.1 – Fishing Prohibitions
Fishing is prohibited in the following areas (see also the map on iFiske for restricted areas):
- From Oskars Bridge to the quay edge below Vävaren (Abborrstenen).
- Within a 50 m radius of Skanshålet at Fredrikskans Bridge (the mouth).

1.2 – Children & Youth
Children and youth up to and including 12 years of age may fish without buying a license but must be aware of the fishing rules.

1.3 – Fishing license
Fishing licenses are personal. The license must be carried and shown to a fisheries inspector upon request. Name, date, and time of purchase must be stated on the license.
- Day license: valid for 24 hours
- Weekly license: valid for 7 days
- Year license: valid for 1 year from purchase date

1.4 – Violations of Regulations
In case of violations of the rules below, TFVOF has the right to charge a control fee of SEK 1500. Violations of section 1.5 incur a fee of SEK 4400. A fishing license does not grant any rights beyond fishing according to these rules.

2.0 – Fishing Gear
Only hand-held fishing gear is permitted.
Net fishing is prohibited.
Snagging is prohibited.
For ice fishing, a maximum of 10 tip-ups per permit is allowed. Tip-ups must be marked with the owner's name. Use of "scissors" (hooking device) is prohibited. Ice bait fishing counts as angling.

2.1 – Bait Fishing
In Zone 2, bait fishing methods such as float fishing with worms or bottom fishing are prohibited in flowing water. These methods are only permitted in sections with clearly slow-moving water.

2.2 – Fishing from Boats
Fishing from boats is permitted between the power line and the railway bridge upstream of Brännsågen, and between Lexvalls Bridge and Skansbanken. Trolling is always prohibited.

3.0 – Fish Handling (Catch & Release)
Each angler may keep a maximum of five fish per day, provided the species is legal.
When releasing fish:
- Handle fish carefully to avoid injury
- Wet your hands before handling
- Avoid lifting the fish out of the water
- Gaffs may not be used
- Foul-hooked fish must always be released

3.1 – Salmon & Trout
Salmon and trout must always be released regardless of condition.

3.2 – Grayling
Grayling must always be released regardless of condition.

3.3 – Eel
Eel must always be released regardless of condition.

3.4 – Pike
Pike longer than 80 cm must always be released regardless of condition.

3.5 – “Whitefish”
Sik must always be released regardless of condition.

3.6 – Zander
Zander between 50–70 cm may be kept. Targeted fishing for zander is prohibited from May 15 to June 15 due to spawning.

4.0 – High Temperatures
At high water temperatures, mortality rates increase when releasing fish, especially salmonids. Avoid targeted fishing for species with mandatory release if the water temperature exceeds 20°C.
In extreme temperatures, the FVO may close fishing in Zone 2 (between Vävaren and Brännsågen). If so, the information will be displayed in red text at the top of this rule page and on the FVO website.

4.1 – Catch Reporting
Catch reports must always be submitted within 24 hours via iFiske.

4.2 – Rotational Fishing
In Zone 2, rotational fishing applies. This means:
- Start upstream of an existing angler
- Move downstream after each cast
This ensures everyone has equal opportunity to fish the stretch.

4.3 – Show Consideration
Always show consideration when fishing. The law states that you must not cause disturbance to others.
Also respect nature. Dispose of trash properly in bins or take it home with you.
